I realized one of my biggest wishes in life!!!
This is my first time as an overseas Chinese to participate in Taiwan’s Double Tenth Day. The day before, that is, on the morning of October 9, our family set off from Taichung to Taipei. After arriving, we first went to the Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission to pick up our overseas Chinese ID card(僑胞證).
After receiving the ID card and some small gifts, such as hats, bags, cups, etc., we went to Liberty Square (自由廣場) to watch the performance rehearsal the next day. The performance team included the UCLA Bruin Marching Band and the Emerald Knights composed of Tokyo Agricultural University Second High School, etc., the formation can be said to be very huge!
After watching all the wonderful performance rehearsals, we went to the Grand Hotel Taipei in the evening to have the most luxurious buffet in history. When we arrived, I was stunned by the atmosphere in the Grand Hotel Taipei, because it was so beautiful. The appearance of the entire building, the lighting, equipment and the attitude of the waiters made me admire that this is what a five-star hotel should look like!
The next day is National Day! Our family was very excited to arrive at the Presidential Palace and sat down on time to watch all the performances. After it was over, we rushed back to Taichung to watch the 40-minute National Day fireworks. So we were very busy on October 10, but look after the fireworks, it felt like everything was worth it!
